Haplothrips (Haplothrips) brevitubus (Karny, 1913)

和名:アカメガシワクダアザミウマ

北海道、本州、四国及び九州に分布し、韓国からも記録されている。複眼後方刺毛など体の顕著な刺毛は先端が広がる。触角第3節と第4節の感覚錐はそれぞれ1本 (0+1)と4本 (2+2+1)。前胸の前縁刺毛はよく発達する。各種植物の花や葉に生息する。本種は花粉を食べる以外にアザミウマを含む小型節足動物を捕食することが知られている。

This species is distributed in Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu, and has also been recorded from Korea. The prominent setae on the body, such as the postocular setae, are delated at apices. The antennal segments III and IV have one (0+1) and four (2+2+1) sense cones, respectively. Pronotal anteromarginal setae well-developed, long and weakly delated at apices. It lives on the flowers and leaves of various plants. This species is known to prey on small arthropods, including thrips, in addition to eating pollen.
